On the frigid January 20, 2025, President Donald J. Trump was sworn in for a historic nonconsecutive second term. Four years after he was shunned by the D.C. establishment and it appeared as if the Trump story would end in calamity, he was again sent to the White House by overwhelming margins and with an undeniable mandate for change.
Since Trump’s election loss in 2020, his dissenters sought to prevent his return to the presidency. Democrats across the country attempted to convict Trump, sometimes for his actions on January 6th, and other times on incomprehensible charges. They tried to remove him from the ballot in Colorado and elsewhere, while the Biden Administration’s weaponization of the Department of Justice waged unprecedented lawfare against conservative groups.
The legacy news media sought to destroy the president and weaken his foothold among his supporters, which was nothing new. But this time, their lies did not stick, and ABC News even had to pay 15 million dollars after George Stephanopoulos defamed Trump.
The 2024 election was defined by not one, but two assassination attempts on Trump. Would-be killers tried to remove the leading figure of the conservative movement from the world stage, but they failed. After he was struck by a bullet in Pennsylvania and immediately stood up, vowing to continue his revolution, it was clear beyond all doubt that Trump had solidified his reputation as a fighter in the public consciousness.
Despite the left’s failed attempts to keep him away from Washington, Trump defeated the incompetent Kamala Harris in a landslide victory and carried every single swing state. This Return of the Jedi-esque storyline is just the beginning, however. Winning an election is only the first part of political change, but Trump’s first days in office reveal that he is not waiting around to shake things up.
His choice for Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, has made clear that the goals of our foreign policy will be to put America first in all circumstances. The United States will no longer tolerate open borders or an international order that favors its enemies at the expense of its citizens. The U.S. will no longer nerf its energy capabilities nor will it allow the Green New Deal to make the country weaker.
While these are but a few key points for progress, Trump has recently seriously discussed the acquisition of Greenland and reclaiming the Panama Canal. It remains to be seen whether these ideas will come to fruition, but residents of Greenland have shown support for the possibility.
Trump is leading the way in a global transition toward conservative leadership. Canada is poised to oust its liberal leadership later this year in favor of the firebrand Pierre Poilievre, while Germany, France, and countless other countries are seeing movements inspired by MAGA.
The Trump Revolution has arrived. Let’s not squander this opportunity.
