Biden Cynically Abandoned His Faith For Political Gain

Joe Biden recently awarded Cecile Richards the Presidential Medal of Freedom. She was the president of Planned Parenthood from 2006 until 2018, an “accomplishment” tough to beat for the left. A prestigious honor that is supposed to be reserved for noble, courageous, and at least somewhat moral Americans has instead been given to a woman whose life work was committed to abortion.

Under Richards’s tenure, Planned Parenthood came under fire for several controversies. These include ignoring child sexual abuse and negotiating terms for the donation of aborted children’s bodies. The founder of Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger, also remains idolized in the halls of the clinic. While almost everyone knows about Planned Parenthood, most people don’t know its founder was a malicious racist who viewed abortion as the key to keeping the black population down. She was a social Darwinist who was pro-Eugenics and believed certain people were unfit to have children. And this isn’t just coming from me, Planned Parenthood itself admits it.

Under Richards, Planned Parenthood committed more than 3.8 million abortions while reducing its other services. She also helped lobby to increase government funding of the organization, meaning more of your tax dollars are going to an organization that murders the unborn, whether you like it or not.

Joe Biden’s legacy on abortion has been nothing short of tragic, either. Earlier in his career, he was a moderate on abortion. He admitted to being uncomfortable about the procedure due to his Catholic faith and supported the Hyde Amendment, prohibiting federal spending on abortions. However, Biden has become more pro-abortion to match the far-left views of his party and has sadly chosen to ignore the teaching of his religion to accomplish his political goals.

The left of today is much more radical than the left of just decades ago. In the 1990s, Bill Clinton and most Democrats believed that abortion should be “safe, legal, and rare”. Abortion is now viewed as a holy sacrament that should be shouted on the rooftops for all to hear. Liberal governors even promised to make their state a “sanctuary” for abortion after the Dobbs decision.

Gavin Newsom’s campaign compared getting or aiding an abortion to God’s commandment to “love your neighbor as yourself”. Somehow, sacrificing your child to fit your lifestyle needs is seen as a selfless and noble decision. A 2020 film called “Unpreganant” even presented abortion as a fun and quirky experience. A teen who willingly had sex gets pregnant and goes on an entertaining road trip with a friend. However, this wasn’t a road trip to go to the beach or Disneyland- it was a road trip to murder her unborn child.

One reason America has become so pro-choice is because of the passion and prioritization top Democrats have given to this movement. We must fight back just as hard if we want any chance of saving the millions of unborn babies from the violence of abortion.
